INCLUSIVE FUTURE: IRA AND REACH A HAND EMPOWER YOUTH WITH

The Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda’s western regional office in partnership with Reach A Hand Uganda have intensified efforts to promote financial inclusion. The duo conducted an insurance literacy training for person with disabilities in Isingiro District

In a seven-day training held at Golden Crane Hotel, Bonny Okello, the IRA Regional Head delivered insurance literacy sessions focusing on personal financial management, budgeting, savings, investment, and the role insurance plays in protecting individuals and families against financial losses arising from illness, accidents, disability, property damage, and other unforeseen events.

This engagement forms part of the Authority’s broader commitment to increasing insurance awareness and ensuring that vulnerable and underserved communities are not left behind in accessing financial services.

The discussions highlighted a growing interest among persons with disabilities in understanding how insurance can complement savings in building their long-term financial security.

Participants were encouraged to seek information from licensed insurance providers and make informed decisions when selecting financial products.
