A model regulator of a secure and developed insurance industry

The insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda (IRA) has launched and handed over the newly constructed Kibibi daily market to the Kibibi community. The construction of this market started in March this year as part of the authority’s Corporate Social Responsibility.

Speaking at the launch and handover over of this market, IRA Chief Executive Officer Alhaj Kaddunabbi Ibrahim Lubega commended the team that led the construction for the exemplary work done and

tasked community members to collectively keep the market in good state. He pointed out that the construction of this market will not just benefit individuals but the whole community at large.

The construction of this market was a response to the request by the leadership of Kibibi who were concerned about the poor hygiene and sorrow state of the then existing market.

Traders in this community were encouraged to stop selling their merchandise along different roads and instead make use of the newly constructed market.
