This year’s AIW is organised under the theme: “Redefining Insurance: Trust, Innovation, and Inclusivity.

According to Alhaj Kaddunabbi, the theme highlights the industry’s need to continuously build public confidence in the insurance industry through transparency and foster inclusivity by making insurance accessible and beneficial to all.

“Insurance plays a critical role in protecting individuals and businesses against unforeseen circumstances, supports the smooth functioning of economies, and contributes to financial stability,” he said.

What to expect

Several activities have been lined up for this four-day event that will run from Monday March 10 – Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Millennium Park, Lugogo, Kampala. “Insurers are cognizant of the fact that building trust is critical within the insurance industry but how do we achieve this when customers’ focus is on price and not the value derived from insurance? Let us use this opportunity to demonstrate the value of insurance,” he said.

The ITC Principal, Mr. Saul Sseremba applauded IRA for the consistency in organising the AIW. He noted that it provides a platform for industry players to also interact and share ideas on how to enhance industry operations and improve service provision.

The IBAU Team Leader, Mr. Christopher Bakesiga Mugisha also alluded to the need to build trust given that the industry sells a promise.

“If you don’t honour the promise which you sell, you will not be trusted. We need to create an environment where the public believes in us in whatever we say and do,” he said.

The week will be crowned on March 14, 2025, with the Insurance Innovation Awards gala, where the Authority shall recognise players who developed innovative insurance solutions for their clients.
