Speaking during the launch ceremony at the Insurance Tower on February 24, 2026, the IRA Chief Executive Officer, Alhaj Dr. Kaddunabbi Ibrahim Lubega said the launch celebrates not only the consistency of the AIW initiative but also the steady growth of the insurance industry, and the increasing recognition of insurance as a vital pillar of Uganda’s socioeconomic transformation.

The AIW, which brings together all the industry players and other financial service providers, and acts as a platform for the industry to engage with the public to deepen their understanding and appreciation of insurance. The players will showcase industry products and innovations.

“This flagship initiative reaffirms the industry’s commitment to promoting public awareness, deepening understanding, and expanding access to insurance services nationwide,” he said.

The AIW also provides an avenue to address consumer complaints in real time, facilitate meaningful dialogue between providers and the public and strengthen collaboration across the financial sector and the wider business community, ensuring that insurance remains accessible, trusted, and relevant to all Ugandans.

This year’s week will run from March 19 – 26, at the Lower Constitutional Square, under the theme “Future Eri Ku Sure ne Insure” and it will be crowned with the Annual Insurance Innovations Awards gala on March 27.

Alhaj Dr. Kaddunabbi said that the theme calls on Ugandans to plan intentionally for a secure and resilient financial future through insurance and other financial protection tools.
