ITC HOLDS 6TH GRADUATION CEREMONY

The Insurance Training College has graduated a total of 996 students in the disciplines of Certificate of Proficiency (COP), Certificate in Insurance (CIU), and Diploma in Insurance (DIU). These are the major courses that the college has majored in overtime. Oher short courses where a number of students graduated include the; the Certificate in Impact Insurance, Trustee Training & Certification Programme, the Oil and Gas Insurance and the Award in Bancassurance.

The 6th graduation comes at a time when the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has brought about a number of challenges which among others include limited gatherings.  This therefore explains why the graduation was held virtually.

According to the ITC Board Chairman Mr. Ronald Zake, the College has survived and continued to register tremendous achievements despite the global challenges brought about by the outbreak of the pandemic. Such achievements include but not limited to the full transformation from private to public body and the appointment of the inaugural Board of the College.

Zake congratulated the graduates on their professional academic journey hoping that they will continue working together for the betterment of the insurance industry through quality professional insurance training.

Saul Sseremba, the ITC CEO and Principal urged the graduates to keep flying the college flag by building on the knowledge acquired and impacting on their communities and the country at large with a professional touch.

“You should not be satisfied with status quo. Go and cause disruption for the betterment of our industry but above all, have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. Continue refining yourselves to be better and better” Mr. Sseremba emphasized.

The Insurance Regulatory Authority CEOAlhaj Kaddunabbi Ibrahim Lubega who was the Chief Guest at the event uploaded the college on a number of partnership which it has entered in to enhance value to members such as the Chartered Insurance Institute, UK under which there is an established Dual Membership Scheme, an MOU with URBRA to conduct specialized pension trainings; a partnership with the International Labour Organisation focusing on Micro-Insurance, among others. “These are remarkable achievements, and I encourage you to seek for other mutually beneficial partnerships”, said Alhaj Kaddunabbi.
